The River Won’t Separate Me from You”, by Jordanian writer Ramadan Al-Rwashdeh (2006), weaves poetry and prose to tell a story of deep passion between the novelist and Jerusalem. Through a dreamy, romantic language, the novel blends imagination with historical Jordanian figures, exploring love, longing, and the human unity along the banks of the Jordan River. Nostalgia threads joy and sorrow throughout, bringing the holy city vividly to life in carefully crafted narrative scenes.

Born in 1964 in Irbid, Ramadan Al-Rwashdeh holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature. He began his literary journey in the 1990s, mastering modern novelistic techniques such as fragmentation, flashbacks, and the interplay of time and space. Alongside his writing, he has had a distinguished career in journalism, holding key positions including director of the Jordan News Agency (Petra), director-general of the Radio and Television Corporation, and chairman of the Jordanian Press Foundation (Al-Rai).
