Amman – The 37th edition of the European Film Festival continues in Jordan under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Reem Ali, with the support of the European Union, and in collaboration with the Royal Film Commission.

The event on Friday, September 26, 2025, opened with two films from the Embassy of Greece and Embassy of Cyprus: “Listen” and “Small White Envelopes.”
The opening was attended by Sevag Avedissian Ambassador of Cyprus to Jordan, and Irene Riga, Ambassador of Greece to Jordan, both of whom welcomed the audience and introduced the films.
This year, the festival has expanded beyond the capital, to include screenings in Ajloun, Jerash, Zarqa, Irbid, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba. The Royal Film Commission’s “Cinema Bus” has also been utilized to bring screenings to areas without cinemas, offering a unique cultural experience.
The European Union highlights the importance of cultural exchange through the festival, inviting European filmmakers and producers to meet with young Jordanian talents in the film industry for discussions and workshops.
The festival continues to attract a large audience, with daily attendance ranging from 350 to 400 people and reaching up to 600 on some evenings, creating a vibrant cultural and family-friendly atmosphere.
Established in 2003 by Royal Decree, the Royal Film Commission (RFC) is an independent public institution mandated to support the development of a viable Jordanian film industry. The RFC facilitates both local and international film productions, offering logistical support, permits, and access to Jordan’s diverse filming locations.
